I recently came across 5:55, the new Charlotte Gainsbourg album and found that Dunckel and Godin composed the music for pretty much the entire thing. Some songs are better than others, but it's definitely sweet and dreamy... worth a listen. Charlotte, Jarvis Cocker (Pulp) and Neil Hannon (The Divine Comedy) penned the bulk of the lyrics, David Campbell (Beck's father) wrote the string arrangements, and Nigel Godrich produced it.

Gainsbourg is an actress (21 Grams, The Science of Sleep) and daughter of French pop icon Serge Gainsbourg. Wanna hear what inspired Air as young boys? Check out Le Histoire de Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg. Funny how things always come full circle.

By the way, has anyone heard Pocket Symphony yet?

You forgot to list Talkie Walkie! SO...a little about me because I'm sick like that! I am an electronic music DJ and I always endeavor to use Air when I can in a mix. Air is the Sun over all that shit being pumped out everyday! Air is the band that pulls me toward the true light. Air is the wind beneath my wings...really...what? No, no pun intended.

my first Air moment

was about five years ago. It was a rainy afternoon and I was driving home when this amazing melody started playing on the radio (I can't remember which one it was). When it was over the DJ announced that was "the French duo Air," and I was hooked.

the hollywood bowl show was awesome!!!! i was bummed that they didn't play radio #1 or how does it make you feel... but it was still a great great great show by all performers!!!
